Prof. Shmuel Kenig earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Technion (1968) and his Ph.D. from McGill University in Montreal, Canada (1972). He served for 18 years in Rafael at the Materials and Processes Dept. where he became the Department's Director. Later he established the Israel Plastics and Rubber Center (1992). In Shenkar College he founded the Polymer and Plastics Dept. (1995), served as the Dean of Engineering (2009- 2020) and Vice President R&D (2020-2024). Following a Sabbatical year, he assumed the rank of Emeritus Prof. in Shenkar College.
Prof. Kenig received international recognitions from the International Society of Plastics Engineers (Fellow and International Award), the Polymer Processing Society (Innovation Award and Fellow), and the Wiley "Polymers for Advanced Technologies" Award for life achievements in polymer science and technology (2024).
At Powder Fuels Ltd. he is serving as the lead of Materials development.Â
